TheRVnetwork.com, launched in mid 2008, has already drawn significant fanfare from Campers and RV enthusiasts! In the early planning stages we thought long and hard of a way to bring the RV and Camping communities together like nobody has done to date. As we starting our initial search we found that the Internet did not really offer a place where the RV and Camping Community could gather, meet and exchange stories etc. We noticed some particular problems with some of the social networking sites that really prohibited the members from having a great experience.
- Few of them actually created personalized and relevant content areas for the members and it was difficult to navigate throughout the site
- Surrender control- A successful network gives the members the ability to exchange information. TheRVnetwork is not about ego or what we think is important to our members. It’s what our members think is important for the site. Our site is constantly changing. We are adding new features and making changes based on YOUR input.
- It’s all about sharing-TheRVnetwork makes it simple to share your images, videos blogs etc with your friends and family. Some websites like to control that information and not have it leave their boundaries; we feel quite the opposite. All of us have valuable information and ideas based on our experiences that are so valuable to our members. It is this exchange and It’s simplicity that provide valuable insight for our members.
RV’ing and Camping is not just a hobby, for some it’s a way of life. It’s a comfortable, convenient, stress-free way to travel, and enjoy the great outdoors while spending quality time our families. Now TheRVnetwork provides a way to share all those great experiences with others who share the same mutual interest.
TheRVnetwork provides an outlet for Campers and Rv’ers to give suggestions for itineraries, accommodations, dining and things to do. Did you ever wonder how big the RV community is? Here are some statistics for you to think about. The University of Michigan Survey Research Center identified that the U.S. ownership of recreation vehicles (RVs) has reached record levels in the past couple of years.
- RV ownership by 2010 will be over 8 million households just in the U.S.; a 15% increase.
- Today nearly 8 million U.S. households own at least one RV—a 15 percent increase over the past four years and a stunning 58 percent rise since 1980, according to the study.
- One in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now own at least one RV
- More RVs are owned by 35-to-54 year olds than any other age group
- 390,500 RVs were shipped in 2006, the best annual total in the past 30 years
